It is a custom in Judaism to pray for the release of captives. On Friday evenings, we will gather in the Hess Chapel to read the over 200 names we have of those being held since October 7, and offer a prayer for their release. All are welcome.

Know your workplace rights! This workshop, hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Council and Birmingham-branch EEOC will focus on discrimination in the workplace, including on the basis of religion. The EEOC will be leading the workshop and available to file complaints on-site. Registration coming soon. This event will be hybrid, but lunch will be provided for those attending in person. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this class is designed to teach you the fundamentals of this beloved game. In this hands-on 3 part series, you'll learn the basics of gameplay, including the rules, the tiles, and the strategies that make Mahjong both challenging and exciting. No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and a sense of fun! $100 for J members | $150 for non-members
