Young Jewish Philanthropy

The Birmingham Jewish Federation


Young Jewish Philanthropy (YJP) is a youth program designed to strengthen the bonds of our youth in the Birmingham Jewish community. Born out of The Birmingham Jewish Foundation’s Teen Tzedakah program, this new program seeks to increase philanthropic activity and the giving of tzedakah.

YJP will provide learning tools to grow, understand and educate about philanthropy in Birmingham as well as enhance leadership skills.

Shalom Service Corps

For ages 9-10

You and your child will be provided resources to begin and guide the conversation about philanthropy in your home.

Tikkun Olam Squad

For ages 11-12

Your pre-teen will be given the opportunity to give back to the Birmingham community with their peers.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Fund

Your Bar/Bat Mitzvah will be able to create a fund in his or her name in the Birmingham Jewish Foundation.
