The Birmingham Jewish Federation DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

The Birmingham Jewish Federation is committed to respecting the privacy of all its donors. We believe in safeguarding personal information and ensuring that donor privacy is protected.

Information Collected. Here are the types of donor information that we collect and maintain:

  • Contact information: name, organization/company, address, phone number, email address
  • Donation information: amounts donated, date of donation(s)
  • Your requests and comments

How Information is Used. The Birmingham Jewish Federation uses your data to maintain records of donations, send acknowledgements, mail year-end tax statements to you, send newsletters, notices and direct mail pieces, and for internal marketing purposes. Donor information is maintained in a secured database.  Only authorized personnel have access to this information and only for appropriate business purposes such as those mentioned above.  We normally add you to our mailing list, unless you request otherwise. Our third-party mailing services are contractually obligated to treat the lists with confidentiality and are

 prohibited from transferring them elsewhere.

Authorized Release of Information.  We list individuals’ names in our annual recognition peice inside an edition of the Jewish Observer. We do, however, allow donors to remain anonymous if requested. Corporate and Foundation sponsors are listed in our annual report and event programs unless under request of anonymity. We use website statistics to analyze our website usage. The Birmingham Jewish Federation may be legally required to disclose information on occasion. We comply will all applicable legal requirements and standards.

No Sharing of Personal Information. The Birmingham Jewish Federation will not sell, rent, trade or transfer your personal information to outside organizations.  We do not rent or sell our donor lists or any information contained on those lists. Federation may occasionally send mailings or electronic mailings on behalf of beneficiary agencies, but we do not share our donor information with these agencies for any use. Use of donor information will be limited to the internal purposes ofThe Birmingham Jewish Federation and only to further the mission ofThe Birmingham Jewish Federation.  Nevertheless, security measures may not prevent all losses, and JFCNY is not responsible for any damages or liabilities relating to security failures.

Amendments. Federation reserves the right to modify or amend this policy at any time.
