  • Film Screening: October 8

Levite Jewish Community Center 3960 Monteclair Road, Birmingham, Alabama, United States
    Education

Join us for a powerful program featuring a screening of the documentary October 8, which explores the alarming rise in antisemitism on college campuses, social media, and in public spaces in the United States following the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel. This timely film provides a stark, urgent look at how anti-Jewish rhetoric and incidents have surged in the aftermath and how students and institutions are responding. Following the screening, stay for a panel discussion addressing the current campus climate for Jewish students and what some local universities are doing right. This event offers an opportunity to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation about fighting antisemtism and protecting Jewish students. Registration required. Funding for this program is provided by the Sally and Richard Friedman Fund of the Birmingham Jewish Foundation.
