Our Gail and Jeffrey Bayer Family Religious School of Temple Emanu-El strives to provide students with meaningful and positive experiences that promote a passion for lifelong Jewish learning and living. TBE Usher Training
Discover your creative spark in this four-week art series designed for curious minds and open hands. Each week introduces a different medium to explore and enjoy: oil and chalk pastels, an acrylic color lab, collage art, and watercolor. No prior experience is needed! Join us with willingness to play, experiment, and create in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Registration is required and includes the cost of 4 classes and supplies. LJCC members : $25 Non-members: $75
In partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Office of Service Learning and Undergraduate Research, The J is excited to offer a helpful course to support members with using smartphones and other technology. Each class will include a short lesson on a specific topic, followed by time to ask questions or get help with your own devices. This is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
JCRC is thrilled to be partnering with the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute as part of their summer film series on a screening of "Ain't No Back To A Merry-Go-Round," a documentary exploring a fascinating moment of solidarity between Howard University students and their Jewish neighbors. Date: Tuesday, September 9 Happy Hour: 5:00 p.m. at Sidewalk Cinemas – mingle and enjoy concessions and drinks Screening: 6:00 p.m., followed by opportunities to connect with community organizations highlighting their work to foster unity Tickets are free, but reservations are required.
