Mishloach Manot Fundraiser at KI

Knesseth Israel Congregation 3100 Overton Road, Birmingham

For $118 per person we will prepare a beautiful and unique mishloach manot that is sent to all of our Shul members and participants together with a list of all those families who chose to join and send to the members of our Shul and participants. For smaller Mishloach Manot for friends and family, we will make for you a small, but lovely box of goodies to hand out. $5/bag. The net profit of this Purim Fundraiser will be split between KI and Leket Israel Leket Israel, the National Food Bank, is the leading food rescue organization in Israel. Its sole focus is rescuing healthy, surplus food and delivering it to those in need through partner nonprofit organizations. PLEASE RSVP by Monday, March 18 so that we know how many Mishloach Manot to order and how much to prepare for the Saturday and Sunday events.

Shabbaton at KI

This January 12th and 13, KI will welcome Rabbi Haim Jachter, who is a prominent rabbi who serves as the rabbi of Congregation Shaarei Oreh and is a popular Torah teacher at the Torah Academy of Bergen County. He is also called upon by over 70 communities throughout North America to assist in constructing, expanding, and maintaining their Eruvin. KI welcomes Rabbi Jachter as our Scholar-in-Residence for our Shabbaton. His speaking topics are: The Exciting Experiences of Serving as an Ashkenazic Rabbi in a Sephardic Synagogue, Why Should I Believe in the Oral Law? (Mishna and Talmud) Schedule: Friday night, January 12th Maariv 5:30pm Following davening there will be a delicious dinner for $18 per person.
