Roll It On Over To The Federation

Roll It On Over To The Federation
If you are over the age of 70 ½,  you may have a great opportunity to make a special gift. Over the past ten years, many individuals over age 70 ½ have utilized the IRA  (Individual Charitable Account) charitable rollover to transfer up to $100,000 each year from their retirement accounts directly to public charities, such as the Birmingham Jewish Federation, without first having to recognize the distribution as income.
The IRA charitable rollover has proven to be very popular with older taxpayers and beneficial to charities.
If you are in this age bracket, this may be a great way to make an increased gift to the BJF’s annual campaign or to fund special programs and projects, such as You Belong in Birmingham, the BJF’s efforts to engage young Jews, or the Israel/World Jewry Bureau allocations committee. Email BJF staffer Samantha Dubrinsky at samd@bjf.org if you would like  to discuss a special gift
Please note that, as of now, such rollover gifts cannot be made to any supporting foundation, such as The Birmingham Jewish Foundation, or to any Donor Advised Fund or Private Foundation. However, our Jewish agencies, organizations and synagogues may receive such gifts.
