Our Annual Campaign is one of the most important aspects of The Birmingham Jewish Federation. Each year, we strive to reach our goal so that we can allocate funds to local, national and global organizations.
The Birmingham Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign drives the work we do and the organizations we support. Every year, funds raised go to support programming and advocacy as well as a wide array of organizations making an impact locally, nationally, and globally.
The money raised in the Annual Campaign is allocated by The BJF’s Board of Directors. The programs and organizations we fund further The BJF’s guiding values:
-Support Israel and advocate for a strong US-Israel partnership
-Combat anti-Semitism and aid Jews in need across the globe
-Strengthen ties between our Jewish community and greater Birmingham
-Promote Jewish education and culture and sustain Jewish continuity
-Strengthen Birmingham’s Jewish community and meet its social service needs
While we also run emergency fundraising campaigns for special needs, none of the work we do would be possible without the Annual Campaign, which touches thousands of lives in Birmingham, Israel, and throughout the world every year.
Thanks to our generous donors, The BJF’s 2016 Annual Campaign raised $2.3 million. In addition to funding local Federation programming we allocated funds to the following organizations:
